Our Sponsors
The Reporting Standards initiative is proudly sponsored by NCREIF and PREA—two leading associations in the institutional real estate investment industry. Both organizations are powered by dedicated volunteers, who form the backbone of the Reporting Standards’ success. More information on the sponsors can be found at www.ncreif.org and www.prea.org.

Leadership and Governance

Reporting Standards Board

The Reporting Standards Board is an independent governing body appointed by NCREIF and PREA. Board members are empowered to codify, approve, and promote a unified set of reporting standards for the institutional real estate community.

Reporting Standards Council

Appointed through an open nomination process by the Board, the Reporting Standards Council is composed of subject matter experts across various professional disciplines. The Council ensures transparency, collaboration, and broad industry involvement in the standards-setting process.

How We Work

Project Task Forces
Each year, the Reporting Standards Council outlines key initiatives in its business plan. These initiatives are carried out by Project Task Forces, which include at least one Council member and volunteers—primarily from NCREIF and PREA member organizations. Global task forces aim for balanced representation across regions through collaboration with global partners. For newcomers, joining a task force is a great way to gain experience and contribute to the industry.

NCREIF and PREA Committees
Both NCREIF and PREA maintain standing committees and affinity groups (respectively) focused on specific disciplines and topics of interest. Reporting Standards volunteers are typically sourced from these groups, and are critical to the Reporting Standards initiative.

Meet the Director
The Director of Reporting Standards is the initiative’s lead staff member and only non-volunteer role. The Director oversees the development, content management, and ongoing maintenance of the Reporting Standards, ensuring continuity and operational excellence.
